35 Years After Roe v. Wade

Today is the 35th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade.

In the Feminist Blogosphere today is also known as Blog for Choice Day, where women are encouraged to share their stories and give another perspective on abortion: thankfulness that they had a choice. Abortion is a multi-faceted topic, and up until very recently women that have had the procedure have been cowed into silence. Only those that regret their decision (after they were allowed to have their choice of course) were encouraged to share their stories. The idea was to shame them, force them to act as if they are guilt-ridden and traumatized.

Today NARAL and other Feminist groups on the internet are encouraging the other side of the debate to speak up, and work to protect their freedoms.

My story? I have none. I do know, however, that I am thankful to even have a choice (for now at least).

Here are a few blogs that I have found that thoughtfully and sensitively broach this very personal subject.
