Texas Candidate FIling - The Final Day

This is it. Today is the final day to sign up to be a candidate in Texas for either the Democratic or Republican primary. We have had several great candidates come forward in Denton and statewide ranging from State House candidate John McClelland to United States Senate candidate Rick Noriega. I'm hearing of the 20 something names on the ballot across Denton the Democrats will be contesting around 75% of them. I will try to post the full list of Denton County candidates when they are posted later tonight.

In a surprise, one of the most unnecessary primary battles was expected to be Judge Susan Criss vs. Judge Linda Yanez for Texas Supreme Court place 8, but some breaking news today says that Judge Yanez may have not filed filed enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. Back in early December Judge Yanez did say she thought collecting signatures was undemocratic. Capitol Annex has more on this story.
